Judy Chiang – Art for Modern Learning: Integrating Art Standards with Other Curriculums
There has been a lot of fuss about Modern and Integrated Cross-Curricular Learning. Is it good? Is it a waste of time? How does it work with NCEA standards? What does it look like?
Let me show you how module teaching works at Rototuna Senior High, the gems I have learned over the years, and what I would do differently. I will share some resources and examples with you and answer any questions you might have.
Join me as we explore Chocolate Sculptures, Protest for Rights, the Science of Pinhole Cameras, Expressing the Effects of Drug Addiction, Tessellation Art, Textile Art, Sports photography, Connection to Mana Whenua, and so much more.
Biography
Kirikiriroa has been my home since 2018, establishing and growing with Rototuna Senior High School from its second year of establishment. I would say I am a mixed-media visual art teacher, specialising in conceptual art teaching from Design to Printmaking with Photography and Painting in between since 2010. Being at Rototuna Senior High School allows me to explore my creativity through different mediums and disciplines with Cross-curricular module teaching.
Loving life in Kirikiriroa with my partner Mike and our cheeky kids Everly 5 and Wilbur almost 3.
