This presentation involves a review of the nature of evidence for Achievement Standard 91913. Key aspects of the presentation include:

• Expectations for ‘significant’ artworks in relation to the credit weighting and curriculum level of the standard – and how this differs from the previous ‘finished work’ standard.

• Identifying a specific set of unique design and production conventions appropriate to the chosen visual arts context.

• The role of supporting evidence is relation to sustained research, development, decision making, and intentionality of final outcomes.

• Best practice for documenting work for external moderation.

The topics will be supported with evidence from 2024 moderation submissions.

Previously HOD and AP at Tikipunga High School, Whangārei. Currently Visual Arts National Assessment Advisor at NZQA. BFA painting/design (Canterbury/Elam), MFA painting (Whitecliffe) and M Phil drawing (AUT). Endurance cyclist and numismatist.
