As an assessment, Achievement Standard 91913 (1.2) presents an opportunity for students to resolve their own significant artwork by focusing their art making exploration around key conventions of established practice. This enables areas of practice to be explored that move outside the context of workbook and folio formats. The standard provides opportunity for students to create a substantial artwork that is rooted in cultural practices. It allows students to draw from their own cultural milieu, personal experiences, and skills to complete a single artwork to a high technical finish.
